OPEN LETTER

Vietnam is a developing country, agriculture still plays an important role in the economy. However, the explosion of information technology; the process of international integration requires the higher the quality of agricultural products; together with the shrinking land area due to urbanization, climate change while the population increases, the demand for food is constantly increasing… are huge challenges for agricultural production.

Solving these problems, according to experts, the development of high-tech agriculture is an inevitable trend, the answer to the development of the country’s agriculture.

Hi-tech agriculture is an agriculture that rationally applies new and advanced technologies to production in order to improve efficiency, create a breakthrough in productivity and quality of agricultural products, and satisfy increasing demands. society and ensure sustainable agricultural development.

Developing hi-tech agriculture, renewing science and technology is considered as one of the key and key solutions. Applying science and technology solves challenges in agricultural development with the advantages of technologies such as: biotechnology, greenhouse technology, drip irrigation technology, sensor technology, automation , internet of things … help agricultural production save costs, increase productivity, lower costs and improve the quality of agricultural products, protect the environment. On the other hand, hi-tech agriculture helps farmers to be proactive in production, overcome seasonality, reduce dependence on weather and climate, and meet market demand for quality agricultural products.

Participating in the transfer of Digital Agriculture – a closed process by technology, including: High quality seeds, smart fertilizers, herbal pesticides, precision farming to reduce seed loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions , automation of harvesting, storage, transportation and processing, cloud application for traceability etc…;

Agricultural digital transformation, changing agricultural management methods based on digital technologies: Blockchain, Internet, BigData, AI, Drones…

With the above reasons, the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture and High-tech Plant Seeds established will be a place to gather and connect scientists and experts with professional qualifications and experience in research on in the field of agriculture and high technology to contribute to the development of breakthrough, applied and effective mechanisms and solutions.

FIELD OF ACTIVITIES

The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture and High-Tech Crops (abbreviated as IAC) operates in the following main areas:

  • Scientific research on organic agriculture.
  • Provide modern and advanced organic farming materials.
  • Consulting, transferring technical advances, solutions for organic farming, circular agriculture without waste.
  • Guiding and supporting households/units in agricultural digital transformation; Provide plant varieties with high technology application, suitable for production and use needs.

VISION

  • Building the Institute to become a strong unit in the field of organic agriculture and production of high-tech plant varieties.
  • As the leading Science Institute of Vietnam on banana varieties.

MISSION

  • Raise the value of crops, bring many benefits to the environment and society.
  • Spread the value of banana trees in the economic development of Vietnam.
  • Scientific research: Scientific research and application of technology development on Organic Agriculture and high-tech plant varieties;
  • Science and technology services: Consulting, transferring technical and technological advances, participating in training, organizing seminars, scientific and technological information, domestic and international cooperation on Organic Agriculture plants and plant varieties applying high technology.
  • Trial production of products as a result of the research process
